Copyright & DMCA Policy
We respect intellectual-property rights and act on clear notices of infringement. This policy explains how a rights-holder can report allegedly infringing content, what a valid notice must contain, how to file a counter-notice, and how we handle repeat infringers — in line with the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and DMCA-style practice.

Our Respect for Intellectual Property
The Office for Strategic Preparedness and Resilience (“OSPRE”) respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users of osprenigeria.gov.ng to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and, for internationally-accessed content, consistent with DMCA-style notice-and-takedown practice.
Scope
This policy covers content published by OSPRE, materials in our resource library, and user-submitted content. Some of our analysis incorporates third-party data used under licence (for example ACLED, UCDP, the GDELT Project, DB-IP and Open-Meteo); that data remains subject to its providers' terms and is attributed accordingly.
Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you are a rights-holder (or authorised to act for one) and believe content on the platform infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated contact (section 4) that includes all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works);
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail and a URL for us to locate it;
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights-holder, its agent, or the law;
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of applicable law, that you are the rights-holder or authorised to act on their behalf;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
